  Your Wedding Checklist

Print out and use our handy guide to making sure your wedding runs smoothly from day one!

As soon as you announce your wedding - at least twelve months before the date:

  • Decide on your budget.

  • Start making a guest list.

  • Set a date. If you have guests coming from overseas or interstate, give them as much notice as possible.

  • Make sure you inspect and book with your desired reception venue as soon as possible. If your ceremony is to be outdoors, find an alternate venue in case of bad weather.
  • Decide on the size of your wedding party. Traditionally, the number of bridesmaids and groomsmen is equal.

  • Nominate your Matron of Honour or Chief Bridesmaid, and have your groom choose his best man.

  • Start thinking about your dress. You might like to build a file of styles you like by cutting pictures out of magazines. Start looking at dresses for your attendants at the same time.

  • Investigate photographers and videographs, making sure you've seen examples of what they can do. Book them early!

  • Think about style of invitation you might like.

  • Decide on your music - a DJ or a live band. Book them early. Think about what songs you'd like.

  • Choose your transport - horse and carriage? Porshe? Vintage car?

  • Look through travel guides to find your honeymoon destination.

  • Interview hairdressers and make up artists. Many are booked out more than 12 months in advance, so ensure you place your booking now.

  • Arrange wedding insurance.

  • Call us on 03 9836 8466 to arrange a time to visit our showroom. After you book, you don't need to make a final decision on your flowers until six weeks before your wedding, but we'd love to discuss your ideas with you.
