Why do we have Christmas Trees?

The Christmas Tree tradition as we know it comes from Germany, where trees were decorated with fruit, nuts and sweets for children to eat on Christmas Morning.

Later on, people began decorating their trees with candles as well - and the tradition slowly spread around the world.
