As usual, Balwyn Blooms are offering beautiful cut or potted Christmas Trees for sale this season... but this year we're going one better. You can come and collect your tree the usual way, or we can deliver it for you - and we'll come and collect it after Christmas, too. * No annoying trips to the tip!

Flower Basics: Getting the best out of your flowers

• When you receive cut flowers, always re-cut the stems before placing them into water. Make sure you add flower food to the water - we send a packet out with every order we fill. This will prolong the flowers' life.
  
• Flowers don't like to be left in a draught or in direct sunlight. They will last longer away from extreme temperatures.
  
• When you purchase potted plants from us, we will include a plant care fact sheet with your order.
  
• If you have cut violets on display, be aware they have a quirk! African violets absorb water through their flowers as well as their stems, so make sure to dip the heads in water every so often. Giving them a spray with a mister can help as well.
  
• The longest lasting flowers are Australian natives and tropical varieties. Chrysanthemums can also last an extraordinarily long time if you remember to re-cut the stems and change the water every day
